Dear Brothers and Sisters,
I would like to share with you very important news. As you may or may not know, since Fr. Michael MacEwen was sent to St. Patrick in Natick, IC has not had a pastor. Like Fr. Marc Bishop, I was sent here as the Administrator until a new pastor was named. After a time of prayer and deliberation, the Cardinal has chosen to name me the new pastor of this magnificent Parish! I am very humbled by his decision and, at the same time, honored to be assigned to this mission. Since day one, I felt very welcomed by all of you and supported in this ministry. It’s undeniable that we faced some difficult and challenging times during these months, events that go well beyond what we learn at the Seminary. Nevertheless, I am very thankful for all of you for standing beside me and supporting me in many ways. As I am getting to know each and every one of you, I am very grateful and proud for all that you have done for God and the community. One of the greatest joys of being a priest is to be able to witness the many miracles that God performs in people’s lives, the graces received, and the conversion stories! I echo the words from St. Augustine, "So I hope the fact that I have been bought together with you [or redeemed by Christ] gives me more pleasure than my having been placed at your head." I ask for both your prayers that God grant me a heart of a shepherd and for your support. I will keep you updated on the date of the installation, the liturgy where the bishop solemnly entrusts the parish to a new pastor. This is a very beautiful celebration for the Parish since it only happens once every few years. Also, we are all very happy with the return of Fr. Gregory to action. Even better now that it’s Fr. Gregory 2.0!!!!! God Bless, Fr Steven |
