Confirmation & Registration

Rite of Confirmation High School
(two-year program)
The celebration of the Eucharist is the foundation of all faith. Immaculate Conception’s religious education program consists of families attending Mass together every weekend, to hear the word of God, to lift prayers to our Heavenly Father, and to receive our Lord's Body in Holy Communion.

Dear Family,

The mission of the Immaculate Conception Parish religious education program is “to go and make disciples of all nations, using the tools of prayer, study, generosity and evangelization.” Our Confirmation Preparation program aims to help every member of the family thrive in these four areas of faith. Below we provide an overview of our High School Confirmation program (teens who have completed the twelfth grade please contact the Religious Education Office for further information). Please carefully review and complete a registration form(s) to enroll your Teen.

Our Confirmation Program consists of attending monthly or bi-monthly sessions for 2 years.

Year 1:  Meets on Sunday for nine sessions (dates TBA)
Year 2: Meets on Sunday for 12 sessions (dates TBA)

Both programs consist of:
  • Attending every session from 3:00pm-6:00pm, at the Parish Building located at 119 Washington Court (unless otherwise announced). Every session is tailored and therefore cannot be made up. If your teen must miss a session for a serious reason, like illness, please contact the Religious Education Office at religious.education@icmarlboro.org or call 508-481-7535 and leave a message. Please assist your teen in structuring her/his extracurricular activities and part-time job schedules so that there is no conflict with their religious education commitments.
  • On the date of each session all teens will attend the 5:00pm Mass with their Confirmation Class.
  • Teens will participate in the worship and service life of the Parish by attending Weekly Mass on Sunday at 5:00pm (or a Mass time as customary for your family).
  • Attend a one or two-day retreat (date to be announced).
  • Attend the Sacrament of Confession at least once during the year.

In addition, Year 2 students will:
  • Submit a Confirmation Sponsor eligibility form by November 6.
  • Complete a Saints Project which consists of researching a Saint and presenting a Poster Board at one of the sessions (date to be announced).
  • Write a Letter to the Bishop expressing their desire to be confirmed - due January 1
  • Complete 20 hours of Charitable Work (Community Service) – due April 9
  • Attend the Sacrament of Confession – during Lent and prior to the Confirmation Mass
  • Attend a 15-20-minute consultation with the Confirmation Director and Priest for final consultation – dates to be announced
  • Attend the Confirmation Rehearsal and Sacrament of Confession – dates to be announced

The program calendar with dates for Years 1 and 2 will be distributed in September. Please note that sessions are customized and cannot be made up.

Confirmation Tuition Rate is  $150 per year/per student. Kindly return tuition payment along with your registration form to: Immaculate Conception Parish, Office of Religious Education, 9 Washington Court, Marlborough, MA 01752
