Advent Giving Program
Be rich in doing
good.
Be generous and willing to share.
1Timothy 6:18

Our parish is working with the Holiday Helper program
run by Marlborough Human Services to provide
Christmas gifts for needy
children and teens ranging in age from newborns to sixteen
here in our own community. Your
thoughtfulness and generosity are needed more than ever.
You may notice changes this year
due to the current economic climate.
Many, many more parents have requested warm winter clothing for
their children, or diapers for their infants and toddlers as they no
longer have sufficient funds to meet all of the basic needs of their
children. We are also aware of
homeless teens who are trying to finish school and move from friend’s
house to friend’s house until their family situations improve—they also
need some special angels to care for them this Advent. Our
Giving Tree is decorated
with
Angels and
stockings
On
the back of each
Angel there is a label
indicating the
child’s/teen’s first name, age,
and requested
items of clothing, a toy or gift item.
Please note; if the requested item is too costly you are free to
substitute any similar age and gender appropriate gift.
Please place your
unwrapped presents, in a
gift bag with the
Angel tag firmly stapled
to it. All
gifts need to be
returned to church on or before
December 13th. Gifts and stuffed stockings may be
placed under the Giving Tree or on the adjacent side altar.
On
the back of each stocking, the
gender and age of a child is printed.
Please fill a
Christmas stocking with a hat, scarf, gloves or mittens, warm socks, and
a small gift, a toy or gift card.
Please staple the stocking tag
to the Christmas stocking itself and return it to church on or
before December 13th.
